Volunteer registration for the 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon is now open! Volunteer opportunities are available for individual volunteers, volunteer groups, medical volunteers and key volunteers.
Please find an opportunity that best suits you below. All registered volunteers will receive a detailed confirmation email on race week which will include check-in location, transportation recommendations and preparation tips. It will also include a detailed Know Before You Go Guide to help you prepare for your role.
Individual volunteers

Course marshal, gear check, information team, start corrals and the Post-Race Party beer tent opportunities are open to individual volunteers on race day.
Volunteer groups
Join the fleet of more than 200 volunteer groups that make up the Bank of America Chicago Marathon volunteer team! Group leaders recruit volunteers, share assignment information, relay registration instructions and keep their group on task and organized on the day of the event. Please note, non-profit groups, clubs or organizations that check-in 20 or more volunteers on race day or at the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo and meet event qualifications are eligible for a modest donation starting at $300.
Medical volunteers
Medical volunteers are a vital part of the events we produce, lending support to participants on race day.
